Laurel is well known for her work as Ms.Wheelchair Massachusetts 2005. She is a quadriplegic and advocates for all people with disabilities. She is able to incorporate her dedication to advocacy with her work at The Studio on Slough Road on Cape Cod, where she works as the Director & Artistic Consultant. Part of her outreach with The Studio is to make people in Brewster, and on the Cape as a whole, aware of the impossibility for disabled patrons to visit Art Galleries in this area. The Studio on Slough Road is unique in the access it provides for people in wheelchairs to attend openings and view art.
Please visit Laurel's personal page to read more about her remarkable work. Contact her at studioonslough@yahoo.com or at 508-367-5749 to make an appointment to meet with her. The Studio takes great pride in being wheelchair accessible. Unfortunately, limited access is an all too common occurence among businesses on Cape Cod.
