Today I joined other disability advocates from the Boston Center for Independent Living at the State House in support of Disability Awareness Day.
We began the day in an assembly where we coordinated a strategy to advocate for two amendments that are vital to the well-being of people with disabilities: funding for housing vouchers, and PCA benefits and wage increases.
After our assembly, we broke into groups and went to visit our Senators and Representatives to ask them to vote in favor of these ammendments. Our group of advocates made a lot of visits throughout the afternoon, and we will continue to monitor the outcome of today's vote.
