
Since I was crowned as Ms. Wheelchair Massachusetts 2007 a few weeks ago, many people have asked me about my duties as the new titleholder. The Ms. Wheelchair Massachusetts competition is not a beauty contest; it is a competition of accomplishment, achievement and ability. Here is a summary of my duties & responsibilities, as well as roles I am available for:
Duties:
- advocating on disability issues
- raising awareness of the accomplishments of women in wheelchairs
- appearing, speaking and educating the community on both of the above
Responsibilities:
- develop a platform & compete in the Ms. Wheelchair America pageant
- solicit and acquire sponsors for the national competition this July
- recruit future contestants, hold workshops and host next year's pageant
Availability For:
- appearances and speaking engagements
- interviews and photo shoots
- emceeing and guest spots
- charity walks, parades, fairs
- autographs and photo ops
