"Kristen McCosh Chosen as Ms. Wheelchair Massachusetts" article

Kristen McCosh was chosen as Ms. Wheelchair Massachusetts last week based on her accomplishments and ability to be a spokesperson for people with disabilities. A gifted speaker and writer, she received a BA in English from the University of Massachusetts at Boston, and works as a Grant Writer and Volunteer Coordinator at the South Boston Neighborhood House, a local non-profit organization. She is currently working on a Women’s Fiction novel series featuring disabled women as heroines.
She is the daughter of John and Dolores Donoghue of Marine Road. She lives in South Boston and Falmouth with her husband John, who is also a writer. “We are the first generation of Americans with disabilities to be recognized as having equal Civil Rights under the law, and because of this we have a responsibility," McCosh said. ''That is, not only to break down barriers for people with disabilities, but also to lead by example."
