People in the disabled community must continually advocate for equality, independence, and benefits. The future of research, funding, and quality of life issues for people with disabilities lays in the hands of our elected officials, who create policies that seriously impact our lives. As responsible citizens with disabilities, it is imperative that we become active participants in the legislative process by staying informed, supporting advocacy events, and turning out to vote! The following events are being held in support of disability issues and anyone who is interested is encouraged to attend:
- Partners For Youth with Disabilities at the State House - Tuesday, April 17 from 11-2
- Boston Center for Independent Living - Advocacy Day for PCA Wages at the State House - Thursday, May 3 from 1-3
- Boston Center for Independent Living - Annual Advocacy Day at the State House - Wednesday, May 23, from 1-3
Please feel free to email me if you need more information about any of these events!!!
