Helping Hands

Helping Hands: Monkey Helpers for the Disabled is a unique national non-profit organization that places specially trained capuchin monkeys with people who are paralyzed, or who have severe mobility impairments. Helping Hands monkey helpers offer independence and hope to individuals with severe disabilities all across the country.

No fee is charged to the individuals who recieve a monkey. All costs are covered by donations, grants, and corporate partnerships. Special fundraising events provide exciting entertainment and the chance to meet a monkey while supporting Helping Hands. Check out their next special event:

Helping Hands also educates thousands of young people annually in schools, camps, and youth programs through the Spinal Cord Injury Prevention Program (SCIPP.) SCIPP teaches preventive measures for safety awareness and making good choices, heightens sensitivity to the challenges of being disabled, and promotes understanding of the human-animal bond.
