Looking for Mr. Wheelchair America!

WHO?
The Mr. Wheelchair America competition is open to men who use wheelchairs for 100 percent of their daily mobility and are between the ages of 21 and 60, and are US citizens. All participants must have high-quality communication skills and be willing to travel.

WHAT?
Dreams, Inc. announces the first ever Mr. Wheelchair America competition. This is a great opportunity to become a national spokesperson and ambassador for people with disabilities, for your state and the nation.

WHERE?
Washington, DC.

WHEN?
Application Deadline for participants in Mr Wheelchair America is June 29, 2007. The competition date is TBA.

WHY?
For more than 35 years, women from all over the United States have competed in the Ms. Wheelchair America Pageant – now it is time for men to have their own competition!!

HOW?
Judging is based on:
- Accomplishments
- Achievements since the onset of the disability
- Adjustments to disability
- Communication skills
- Ability to deal with media, peers, civic groups, etc.
- Public relation skills
- Advocacy experience for people with disabilities
- Self-confidence/motivation/initiative/creativity
