2008 Health & Beauty Fair to Cure MS

• What: A collection of health and beauty professionals who specialize in exercise, aroma therapy, style, etc. Click here for pictures.

• Who: People ready to start the new year off with relaxation and health


• When: Sunday January 13th from 1-6 PM


• Where: Rock City Body, 107 Brighton Avenue, Allston MA Directions


• Why: To raise funds for Accelerated Cure Project and learn how to live a healthy lifestyle.


• Dress: Comfortable attire. You will have the opportunity to try out pilates, stretching, etc, so dress accordingly.


• Cost: $30 in advance or $35 at the door. 25% of entry fee benefits Accelerated Cure Project. Fee is non-refundable unless the fair is canceled.

Agenda:
Mingle with health and beauty professionals, eat refreshments, and participate in a raffle to benefit Accelerated Cure Project (specific times coming soon).

This fun run will benefit local Special Olympics athletes. Your participation will help fund sports programs, as well as provide uniforms, sports equipment and traveling opportunities to athletes with intellectual disabilities.

Distance: 5k Race

Entry Fee: $18.00 pre; $22.00 post

Course Description: Great course that runs along Crystal Lake to Walnut Street. Follows a slight downgrade on Walnut to Homer Street which offers a solid climb to Newton Centre. Race begins and ends on Tyler Terrace.

Age Group Awards: Top 3 male and females, top 3 (male/female) 15 and under, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and over.

Amenities: Pizza for all finishers; Professional timing; USATF sanctioned course.

T-Shirts: Great race shirts available for first 500 registrants

Directions: From Mass Pike East: Take Exit 17. Take first right off the exit onto Centre Street. Follow Centre Street through 4 sets of lights. Tyler Terrace is on the right side. Make a right on Tyler to Mason Rice School. Parking available in the Mason Rice School Lot.

Fundraiser To Aid Disabled Veterans

A fundraiser is being held on Tuesday, October. 2, from 6-8 p.m. at Phillips Old Colony House in Dorchester. Funds will go to buy a van to help veterans get to and from their hospital visits.
